Entry 10

One of the Barons players getting arrested! How the other players found out is when Biddy and Piper got to the ballpark they noticed some of the players weren’t there. Just before the game started Sam Williams showed up and told Piper that Herman Bell got arrested. Sam only knew Herman Bell got arrested because he was buying a newspaper and he turned around and saw 2 cops putting Herman in the back of a police car. But Sam didn’t know why He got arrested.

After Piper told Biddy to go get Charlie Biddy did and Charlie asked piper what he wanted and Piper told him to start up the bus. So he did and Biddy and Piper went into town with Charlie driving them. They went to the sheriff’s office and bailed him out, but it was twenty dollars Herman had a towel over his eye. Biddy asked how it happened and then he said he slipped on the way inside as he looked at the sheriff.
